Dyer Mountain
Remote Dyer Mountain and the surrounding Mountain Meadows are threatened by the largest development proposal in the Sierra Nevada. Proponents propose locating golf courses, a ski resort, and 4000 resort units on the slopes of Dyer Mountain above Walker Lake, outside of Westwood in Lassen County.
The project would:
- devastate irreplaceable heritage sites of the native Honey Lake Maidu,
- price residents out of local housing, and
- jeopardize priceless biological resources, including bald eagle nesting sites.
Sierra Watch and our friends at the Mountain Meadows Conservancy are working to end the threat proposed by development on Dyer Mountain.
